I'm dreaming of... learning to make a pair of socks.  Maybe you wonder what all the fuss is about.  The truth is: every part of a hand knitted sock is meant to be customized, resulting is the best fitting pair of socks you will ever wear.  This 3-part class will cover everything you need to start, work, fit, and finish a complete pair of top down socks.  We will be using TinCanKnits Everyday Sock pattern, which includes a ton of information on sizing and necessary techniques.  

DATES

Saturdays November 2, 9, 16, & 23 | 3 - 4:30 pm

MATERIALS NEEDED

• TinCanKnits Everyday Socks (included in price of class, printed copy will be provided at 1st class session. A digital copy will be provided through Ravelry.)
  
• Sock weight yarn to match the suggested gauge of 28 stitches to 4 inches in Stockinette stitch.  Suggested yarns are Spun Right Round Classic Sock, Side Hustle Fiber Co. Fancy Fingering, Megs and Co. BFL Sock, Lang Jawoll Sock, plus many more!.
• NOTE: The TinCanKnits pattern can be made with fingering, DK or Worsted weight yarns.  Check the pattern for the required amount of yarn for the size you wish to make!
• Suggested needle sizes: US size 0 (2 mm) OR US size 2 (2.75 mm) OR US size 3 (3.25 mm) 40-inch circular or straight needles, OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE
• Gauge is 28 sts/inch in Stockinette stitch, unstretched  for Fingering weight yarn.  Please check the pattern for suggested gauge for other weights of yarn.  Please check the pattern for the required yardage if you choose other than fingering weight yarn!
• Tapestry needle, stitch markers, tape measure, & scissors

SKILLS LEARNED

• Short Rows
• Working with DPNs OR Magic Loop  OR Two Circular Needle technique for socks
• Kitchener Stitch

SKILLS NEEDED

You should already know how to knit and purl.  Working in-the-round knitting experience will be helpful, but is not necessary.
