DESCRIPTION

You've seen the Lovely Ladies of Liftbridge wearing it, TinCan Knits Love Note sweater!  It is a sweet little sweater that knits up quickly from the top down.  The combination of lace weight (such as mohair or Suri alpaca) and a fine fingering weight yarn creates a fabric that is floaty, soft, and sensual.  With a high-low hemline and two length options, what's not to love?  The two yarn combination creates a DK weight, so if you are not comfortable working with two yarns, a single strand of DK works!  The yoke features a simple lace pattern that is both charted and written.  And of course, TinCan Knits has lots of helpful video tutorials!

Sizes range from 0 to 6 months to 6XL.  The pattern suggests choosing a size with between 4 and 12 inches of positive ease relative to your chest measurement.

Gauge is 16 stitches and 24 rounds / 4 inches in stockinette using larger needles.  It is strongly recommended that you make a test swatch of at least 5 inches by 5 inches, wash it, and when it is dry bring it to the first class, where we will measure your gauge to ensure you are ready to make a sweater that fits!

How to Make a Swatch:

With your chosen yarns (either two held together or one), cast on 24 stitches and knit  in Stockinette (knit 1 row, purl 1 row) for 5 inches, bind off with your usual method.  Gently wash your swatch in tepid water and a drop or two of dish detergent.  Rinse and lay flat to dry on a towel-- no need to block and stretch.. Please feel free to try another gauge swatch with one or more different needle sizes.  The work done here will save time later.

"I'm so excited to finally find my perfect local yarn store. They carry such an amazing range of yarns, from locally sourced to small batch sheep to skein to naturally dyed. I've been twice (so far!) and I'm always greeted so nicely. It doesn't feel clique-y or snobby as some shops do. Their range is really amazing and so far I've gotten sweater yarn and yarn for 2 different shawls here. Dawn is great with color advice too. Highly reccomend!" - Google Review
"I couldn't leave this shop a high enough score. 10000/10. The instant I walked in, I was given a warm greeting and was immediately helped. I went in for sock yarn but, was overwhelmed by all the amazing local yarn. I love that they have a direct relationship with their yarn artisans. She even stayed a few minutes past closing when I was having problems picking just one skein. Never felt rushed or like she wanted me gone. She took the time to make sure I was getting exactly the righ.t product and even put my skein into a cake That's an amazing service that I've never been offered before. I can't say enough good things about this place. Ill definitely be making the trip there more often!" - Google Review
