Description
Bandola by Laura Nelkin is a classic neck scarf that starts with a garter stitch square and is knit tip-to-tip with an accent of lace. Once the center square is complete, stitches are picked up all the way around to begin the border (with or without beads). Worked with two weights of yarn, you can work lace weight wool as the center square and sport weight for the lace border or the Simpola (or simpler, no beads!) version is the opposite with sport in the center and lace for the border.
To wear, fold Bandola in half and wrap around your neck. Finished size is approximately 22 inches square, border included.
The lace design is offered as both written and charted instructions, AND has an almost hour long video tutorial (linked in the pattern). Class will cover how to use both to complete your Bandola. Worked in a light fingering weight and sport weight yarns, the suggested gauge is 22 sts and 38 rows to 4 inches in Garter Stitch, unblocked..

About the teacher: Nancy Vandivert happily admits to being a knitting nerd. She is a TKGA certified Master Hand Knitter and has had patterns published in CAST ON, Interweave Knits magazines, Knitty, Knit Picks, Blue Moon Fiber Arts Rockin’ Sock Club, and Twist Collective, as well as her shop on Ravelry.
