DESCRIPTION

Where to start, with a basic cast on, of course.  Did you know that some cast ons are better for certain projects or for certain types of yarn?  We will experiment with 5 different basic cast ons and discuss where and how to use them.  

HOMEWORK (None :)

MATERIALS NEEDED 

• Smooth, light-colored worsted or DK weight yarn and needles appropriate for the yarn
  

SKILLS LEARNED

• Backwards loop cast on
• Knitted Cast on
• Cable Cast on
• Long Tail Cast on
• Old Norwegian or German Twisted Cast on

SKILLS NEEDED

You should already know how to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off.

About the teacher:
Nancy Vandivert happily admits to being a knitting nerd. She is a TKGA certified Master Hand Knitter and has had patterns published in CAST ON, Interweave Knits magazines, Knitty, Knit Picks, Blue Moon Fiber Arts Rockin’ Sock Club, and Twist Collective. She has taught knitting and crochet in the Rochester, NY area for over 20 years.

2. If fewer than 3 people sign up for any given class, we reserve the right to cancel the class altogether. In this event, you will be notified & issued a full refund.
