Want to make a Christmas (or other holiday!) stocking, but don't have a lot of time?  Enter the bulky knit stocking.  This baby knits up fast on US 9 needles and only requires two skeins of chunky weight yarn.  

Does colorwork made you feel ick?  No worries, Nancy will guide you through the easy way to manage two yarns.  Choose traditional colors or go crazy.  Remember: this doesn't have to fit anyone's foot!

An added bonus? You'll learn to knit a sock without having to worry about size or knitting a second one! :)

DATES

Fridays November 7, 14, & 21, 2025 | 3 - 4:30 pm

MATERIALS NEEDED

• Chunky Christmas Stocking pattern by Liftbridge's own Kelly Meneely
• 2 colors of any chunky weight yarn such as  Plymouth Select Chunky or Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok Tweed. 
• US 9 - 5.5 mm needles for your preferred method of knitting in the round: either a 16" circular needle, a long circular needle for magic loop or double pointed needles.

SKILLS LEARNED

• Knitting in the round
  
• Stranded colorwork
• Working from a chart or written instructions
• Closing a toe
• Working an afterthought heel

SKILLS NEEDED

You should already know how to knit and purl. Experience knitting any of the skills listed above is helpful but not required.

Nancy Vandivert happily admits to being a knitting nerd. She is a TKGA certified Master Hand Knitter and has had patterns published in CAST ON, Interweave Knits magazines, Knitty, Knit Picks, Blue Moon Fiber Arts Rockin’ Sock Club, and Twist Collective. She has taught knitting and crochet in the Rochester, NY area for over 20 years.
